App preferences

Set the app's theme, accent color, languages, and notifications to match how you like to work.

Theme

Open Settings then Appearance to choose how the app looks:

  • Light - bright.
  • Dark - low-light.
  • System - follows your device.

There is also a quick theme toggle in the topbar menu for switching on the fly. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to new devices and never flashes the wrong theme on load.

Accent color

Pick the accent color used across buttons, highlights, and active states. This is purely how the app looks for you.

Not the same as lens styling

These settings change how the app looks for you. How a lens looks to its visitors is a separate, per-lens choice in the lens builder. See Appearance and tone.

Language

Open Settings then Language to set two things:

  • App language - the language of menus, labels, and buttons.
  • Chat language - the language the AI replies in.

They are separate on purpose. You might want the interface in one language and your answers in another.

The AI follows your chat language by default, but it also reads the room: if you write to it in another language, it generally answers in kind.

A lens follows the visitor’s language naturally, so you do not have to set anything per lens. Someone who writes to your lens in French gets answered in French, from the same notes. See Visitor chat.

Notifications

Open Settings then Notifications to control how Mindola reaches you: by email, by push, and in a periodic digest. The notifications worth turning on are the ones about your shared brain:

  • Notes - when a visitor leaves a note on one of your lenses.
  • Visitor activity - when people are talking to your lenses.
  • Digest - a roundup so you do not have to check constantly.

The bell in the top bar shows the same activity in-app, so you can catch up without leaving Mindola.

Try this

If you share lenses publicly, keep note notifications on. A note is someone reaching out directly, and it is easy to miss otherwise. Visitor activity also lands in your inbox, so the bell, your email, and the inbox all point at the same conversations.
