Paid lenses and products

Charge a monthly price for access to a lens with payouts through your own Stripe account, and attach products the lens can recommend when they fit.

Charging for a lens

A lens can be free or paid. Set a monthly price in the Monetization section of Lens settings and access becomes members-only: visitors subscribe to talk to it.

It is a way to turn a genuinely useful slice of your knowledge into something people pay for: deep expertise, a curated knowledge base, ongoing answers in your field.

Getting paid

Payouts run through Stripe, into your own Stripe account. Connect it in the app’s account settings under Selling before you set a price; that is where the money lands.

Paid lenses and payouts are part of the higher plans. The app shows what your plan includes; see Plans and billing.

Products

Separate from a paid lens, you can attach products to any lens: a product, a course, a service, a booking link, or anything else you want the lens to surface. When a visitor’s question lines up with what you added, the lens drops it into the reply as a normal markdown link.

The lens never leads with a product. It answers the question first and adds the link as a short, useful aside. If nothing fits, it stays quiet.

Add a product

  1. Open Lens (switch to the right one from your profile menu first if you need to).
  2. Open the Products section.
  3. Click Add and fill in:
    • Name - what you would call this thing in conversation.
    • Link - the URL the lens will share. It must start with http:// or https://.
    • Image (optional) - only used in the lens UI when it shows the card.
    • Description - one or two sentences. Visitors do not see this directly; the lens uses it to decide when this product fits.
    • Keywords - optional, comma-separated. The lens leans on these to match relevant questions.
  4. Pick how often it can come up:
    • Every relevant turn - mention it when it fits, no cooldown.
    • Once per visitor session - at most once per conversation.
    • Once per visitor ever - at most once per person.
  5. Save.

How the lens decides when to mention it

The lens looks at three things on every visitor question:

  • Does the question, or the notes the lens just pulled to answer it, touch any of the product’s keywords?
  • Is the visitor asking a broad “what do you sell, offer, or build” question?
  • Has this product already been mentioned under its frequency rule?

When one of the first two is true and the third is fine, the product joins the approved material the lens can use in its reply. The model still makes the final call: if the link would not actually help, it stays silent.

Limits

  • Up to 20 products per lens.
  • Descriptions are capped at 220 characters in the prompt; longer ones are trimmed.
  • Links must be valid HTTP or HTTPS URLs. Other schemes (mailto, javascript) are rejected.

Try this

  • Start the lens free, watch its analytics, and add a price once you can see people actually getting value from it.
  • Add a product with two specific keywords (for example course and training), open your visitor link in a private window, and ask “what do you offer?”. The lens should surface the product. Then ask a question that hits one of the keywords and watch it weave the link into the answer.
