Take it with you

Everything you build in Mindola is yours. Open Settings then Export in the app to download your full mind - your facts, your sources, your spaces, your conversations.

You get a complete copy of what you have captured, in a portable format you can read and keep outside Mindola. There is no lock-in: a second brain you cannot take with you is not really yours.

Good moments to export:

• Before a big cleanup, as a safety net.
• On a regular schedule, if you like keeping your own backups.
• Any time you just want a copy.

Delete at any level

You can remove things at whatever scale you need:

• One item - delete a fact or source from your mind.
• A space - archive it to hide it, or delete it to remove it and what is inside. See Spaces.
• A lens - retire it from its page. The link stops working immediately, and visitors see a not-found page.
• Everything - open Settings then Danger zone to clear your data or delete your whole account.

Clearing your data is all or nothing. It removes your spaces and facts, your chats and messages, every source you have uploaded along with the text pulled out of it, your lenses and everything attached to them, your saved documents, your API keys, and your usage history. If any part of it cannot complete, nothing is removed and you are told, so you never end up half deleted.

Your login survives a data clear on purpose, so you can start fresh with the same email address. To remove the account itself as well, use Delete my account in the same place.

Archive or delete

• Archive keeps something but pulls it out of active use. It stops showing in answers and stops reaching lenses, but it is not gone.
• Delete removes it for good.

When you are unsure, archive. When you are sure, delete.

Retiring a lens does not touch your mind

Retiring a lens only kills the share link. Everything the lens was built from stays safe in your mind, ready to power a new lens whenever you want.

Clearing your data, or deleting your account

The Danger zone in Settings has two separate actions, and they do different things. Neither can be undone, so export first if you want a copy.

Clear every capture empties your account and keeps it. Your captures, lenses, conversations and history go; your login stays, and you stay signed in. Use this when you want to start again from nothing without losing the account.

Delete account removes the account itself. Everything above goes, and so does the account: your sign-in, your API keys and any live login links stop working, a paid subscription is cancelled, and you are signed out. Afterwards nothing is left to sign in to.

If you have a subscription, deletion cancels it first. If that step cannot be completed, nothing is deleted and the app asks you to try again, so you are never left paying for an account that is gone.
