Analytics
See how your lens is doing, including when people ask, where they come from, and which questions it could not answer.
Analytics describes the lens you are currently working in; switch lenses from your avatar menu and the dashboard switches with you. Pick a window (7, 30, or 90 days) with the chips at the top. Every number and chart on the page means that window.
Above the charts, four tiles summarize the window: asks, unique visitors, the refusal rate, and notes received. Each tile also shows its all-time figure, so you can tell a quiet week apart from a quiet lens.
What Analytics shows
Four things, on one screen:
- Asks over time: questions per day, with visitors and refusals on the same chart, and how the window compares to the one before it. Refused questions are counted here too, so the line shows everything people tried to ask.
- When people ask: a heatmap of weekday by hour of day. If your audience asks at 9am on Mondays, that is when new knowledge pays off most.
- Who and where: visitors by country, device, and source. A source is the site that linked the visitor to your lens; someone who typed the link or opened it from an app is counted as direct traffic.
- Answer quality: the refusal rate, why answers were refused, and a one-click jump to the refused conversations in your inbox. The refusal rate is refused answers divided by all questions in the window. A refusal means your lens honestly said your material does not cover something, instead of guessing.
What to do with it
- Rising asks, low refusals: your scope fits. Keep feeding it.
- High refusals: people want more than you have shared. Open Review refused, read what was asked, and capture the missing pieces. Each refusal is a question your lens should be able to answer.
- One source dominating “Who and where”: that is where your audience lives. Share there more.
When there is not much data yet
A brand new lens starts with an empty dashboard, and that is normal. Cards with nothing to show for the selected window say so in plain words instead of drawing an empty chart, and when there were no refusals at all, the answer quality card tells you your lens had an answer for everything.
The page fills in on its own as soon as the first visitor asks a question. If the last 7 days look quiet but you had conversations before that, switch to the 30 or 90 day window to bring them back into view.
Try this
Set the window to 7 days after you post your lens link somewhere new. The timeline shows whether the post landed, and the sources view shows who actually sent the traffic.
