AI disclosure

The EU AI Act requires any AI system that talks to people to say so. Mindola handles this at platform level, so every lens is covered without you doing anything. This page explains what visitors see and hear, and why none of it can be turned off.

The AI badge

Every lens carries a persistent AI pill with a tooltip that explains: “An AI built from [your name]‘s notes - answers come from their writing.”

The pill shows in three places:

• On the profile page, next to the live-status line.
• In the chat header, beside your name and verified tick, the whole time the conversation is open.
• In the voice-call header, beside your name for the whole duration of a call. The call screen is deliberately minimal, so the badge is one of the few things on it and cannot be missed.

It cannot be hidden, customized, or removed. This is a platform-level safety layer required by EU AI Act Article 50(1).

Voice calls disclose before and during

Before a visitor’s first conversation, every lens shows a consent notice explaining that they will be talking to an AI built from your notes. During a voice call, the AI badge stays pinned in the header next to your name. Together these cover the disclosure duty for live voice interactions under Articles 50(1) and 50(3).

The audio itself is marked as AI

Visible disclosure is for people. Article 50(2) also requires synthetic audio to be detectable as AI generated by software, so every piece of audio a lens speaks carries a machine-readable marking:

• Generated audio files carry an embedded tag that identifies them as AI generated, names the provider, and includes a short explanatory note.
• The response that delivers the audio also declares itself as AI generated in its headers.
• A live call is a stream and cannot carry a file tag, so the lens page declares the AI-generated content in its page metadata instead.

Tools that scan for AI-generated audio can detect lens speech through any of these routes.

Cloned voices carry an extra notice

If your lens has voice cloning enabled, the footer disclaimer adds: “Voice is AI-cloned.” This is required by Article 50(4).

Why you cannot turn it off

EU AI Act Article 50 makes these disclosures non-negotiable for any AI system that interacts with humans. Mindola’s Terms forbid hiding the disclosure. If someone tries to get around it, for example by hiding the badge with custom CSS in an embed, Mindola can close their account. If you ever spot a missing badge, that is a bug; please report it to security@mindola.ai.
